In addition to our fresh produce, we also have soap and tea available for purchase through our online shop. Our soap is handmade using all-natural ingredients, and our tea is made from locally foraged and grown herbs. We are proud to offer our customers these additional products and hope they will bring joy and comfort to your daily routine.

Springtime at Magnolia Grove Farms is a busy season filled with a variety of activities. One of the main tasks during this time is raising chicks and caring for kittens. The farm has several chicks that need to be fed, watered and kept warm as they grow into healthy chickens.

Another significant event on the farm during the spring is the preparation for the birth of foals. Two mares are set to foal within days, which requires close attention and care from the farm staff. The mares must be monitored closely, and their health must be carefully managed to ensure the safe delivery of their foals. Once the foals are born, they will require special attention and care to ensure they are healthy and growing properly.

Managing the busy spring schedule on the farm can be a challenging task. In addition to caring for the animals, other tasks need to be completed, such as planting crops, repairing equipment, and maintaining the farm's infrastructure. The staff must work together to ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively while still providing the necessary care for the animals. Despite the challenges, the spring season at Magnolia Grove Farms is a rewarding time, as it provides an opportunity to see new life emerge and thrive on the farm

Thank you for supporting Magnolia Grove Farms, and we look forward to sharing the fruits of our labour with you this spring.

Rhubarb Banana Bread

Incredibly moist banana bread with a sweetness that balances out the tartness.

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 2 1/2 cups chopped rhubarb
  • 3 medium-sized overripe bananas
  • 1 egg
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup room temperature butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla

  1. Preheat over to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2.  Grease and flour a loaf pan.
  3.  Stir together the flour, baking powder, and baking soda in a large bowl.
  4.  Add in the chopped rhubarb.
  5. Make a well in the centre and set the bowl aside.
  6. Place the remaining ingredients in a blender. Low for 30 seconds then turn to high until smooth.
  7. Pour the blended ingredients into the bowl and mix until just combined.  Do not over-mix!
  8. Place the pan on a baking sheet. It'll allow the drippings to be caught ;)
  9. Bake for 60-65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  10. Allow to cool for 5 minutes, remove from pan and place on a cooking rack until cool.  Slice once cooled.
